At least half of the cashmere is recycled – fibre recovered from garments and offcuts that already existed, turned back into yarn instead of waste. The yarn comes from a spinning mill in Prato, and we knit it in our family's factory, in the Tuscan textile district. Reclaimed fibre has already been spun once, so it is shorter than new fibre and pills a little sooner, which is why the washing instructions matter. The yarn is two-ply – two strands twisted around each other before knitting – so the knit holds its shape through washing. Don't wring it: press the water out with a towel and dry flat, away from direct heat and sun.
