What to pack for a mountain holiday?
5 things you really shouldn't forget

Hiking shoes
If you love hiking, you know very well that good shoes on your feet make all the difference. Besides having a waterproof exterior and a good sole, they have to be comfortable, support your posture well and hold the foot snugly.
Mountain trousers
Trousers for hiking in the mountains have to be highly breathable, since your legs are the limbs you'll be working hardest.
Go for trousers with plenty of pockets, so you can keep the most useful things within reach: mobile phone, map, sunglasses, handkerchiefs (if they're fabric, use one as a bandana). And if you really can't choose between long and short, pick the trousers with a zip at mid-leg, so you can adjust the length as you need to.
Shirt

Rule No. 1 of the mountains is to dress like an onion, in other words in layers. The best combination is: vest top or T-shirt, shirt, sweater and windproof jacket. Once you've caught your breath at your destination, the advice is to put on a shirt, so you stay covered once you've cooled down without having to pull on a sweater.
A thin but warm sweater
Even in summer? Yes: from the peaks to the valley, from day to night, the swing in temperature really makes itself felt. That's why you shouldn't forget to pack a warm sweater.

A pure cashmere crewneck turns out to be an ideal piece for a mountain suitcase. A classic, simple garment that works for every occasion, the Dalle Piane Cashmere crewneck is perfect for feeling elegant in the evening too. Necklaces, earrings or bracelets: pick the accessory to go with it and you're done.
Windproof jacket
In the mountains there can be rainy days. So don't forget to put a good waterproof jacket in your backpack. Tips for choosing one? A front zip opening, a generous hood, pockets, and not padded the way ski jackets are - it would risk being too warm. If you have a good sweater keeping you warm, that's more than enough for your layering.
