Gift Set
Buying a piece of cashmere is choosing something you would be glad to be given. The box is how it arrives.
What it looks like
A cream box with the blue logo. Inside, the piece is folded in tissue paper, and the box is closed with a blue ribbon. Nothing more than that, and nothing more is needed: the moment the parcel is opened, it is clear the thing inside was chosen rather than grabbed.

How to add it
Gift wrapping is added in your bag, not on this page: next to each piece there is a box to tick for it. It covers one piece, so if you are sending several gifts you can add it to each one separately.
In the same box you can write your gift message. We print it on a card and put it in with the piece. If the parcel is going straight to the person receiving it, we leave the price out.
The occasions, and what changes from one to the next
A piece of cashmere is given on more or less the same handful of occasions. Little changes in the box; a good deal changes in the timing. What ruins a gift is rarely the wrong choice, it is the parcel that turns up the day after.
Our times are 2–5 working days from order to door: 1–2 days to prepare the parcel, 1–3 in transit with FedEx, delivery free and VAT and import charges already paid. What changes from one occasion to the next is how much slack you have in front of the date.
Christmas
It is when we ship the most, and also when the couriers slow down. If the box has to be under the tree, order in the first half of December, not in the last few days. If you are already late, write to us: we will tell you straight whether we can make it, instead of leaving you to hope. Orders placed in November and December can be returned until 31 January, which is what you want for a gift that gets opened weeks after it was bought.
Valentine's Day
A wrap or a scarf is the gift that goes wrong least often: there is no size on it, so there is no size to get wrong. If you are set on a sweater and not sure of the size, returns are free within 30 days.
Mother's Day and Father's Day
In the UK, Mother's Day falls in March or early April and Father's Day in June, when heavy cashmere is out of season. These are the dates where the light pieces work: a pashmina, a thin scarf, something for a cool spring evening.
Birthdays and anniversaries
They have no shared date, so there is no rush. This is the occasion where you can afford to wait for the right colour if the one you wanted is sold out. Write to us and we will tell you when it comes back.
Graduations
Ceremonies fall mostly in summer, so the same light pieces as the spring dates. One practical thing: if the gift is going to a university address, send it to the address they will be at once term is over. A parcel that lands the week everyone moves out is a parcel nobody is there to take in.
New babies and christenings
For a newborn there is a line of its own: blankets, beanies, scarves. It is also the occasion where several people go in on one gift, and the box counts: one parcel arrives, not three.
Every order is packed by hand
Gift box or not, every piece is folded and packed by hand in our family's factory in Prato before it leaves, in an FSC-certified box, with the care card inside. Nothing is sent loose.
Getting it there in time
Orders ship from Italy by FedEx and arrive in 2–5 working days. Delivery is free, and VAT and import charges are already included, so there is nothing to pay on delivery. In the two weeks before Christmas the couriers are busy and it is worth allowing a few extra days. Full conditions are on Delivery & Returns.
If the gift needs a size, read Find Your Size first: our sizes are Italian, and the measurements are more reliable than the letter. A scarf, a wrap or a throw sidesteps the question entirely.
