How to dress at Christmas: looks and outfits for the festive season
How do you pull off a perfect look and not feel out of place during the Christmas holidays? Every year the same question comes back right on schedule - ‘what do I wear at Christmas?’ - but few people know that it only takes a few small touches to be the most beautiful woman at the party.

A dress or separates?
Is it better to wear a classic dress or to go with a sweater paired with a skirt or trousers? There are no rules: some people put elegance above all else, others don't want to give up comfort. In the second case, a wrap or a light sweater is a solid alternative to jackets and sheath dresses.

Leave the black at home
Total black at all costs isn't the way to go. Christmas is a time to celebrate, so let the colours in. You can never go wrong with a classic: red - or burgundy, as an alternative - and green are always perfect, and they echo tradition. There's room too for soft shades like powder blue, beige and pink, to add a touch of colour without overdoing it. It's better to go easy on prints and bold graphics (at most, opt for classic tartan or Nordic patterns) and stick to solid colours for a classic, timeless style.

Avoid the monochrome effect with the right accessory
Accessories are the key to breaking up a monochrome look. Gold and silver will give you a bit of shine, while beanies and scarves in a different shade will provide contrast and help you avoid the ‘all one colour’ effect - a growing trend in fashion, but always a risky one.
