Two colours run down the length of this scarf, close to each other rather than in sharp contrast: Bordeaux and grey, blue and green, the same idea across the other pairings. Knotted at the neck, both tones stay visible – an accent instead of one block of colour. The Bordeaux and grey picks up the weave of a grey tweed jacket; the blue and green sits well against a navy peacoat.

The yarn is two-ply – two strands twisted around each other before knitting – so the knit holds its shape through washing and pills less than a single-ply would. 100% cashmere, knitted in our family's factory in Prato, in the Tuscan textile district. Origin traceability certified Tfashion 100% Made in Italy, which certifies the making and not just the label. The yarn is certified OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 and the cashmere is certified The Good Cashmere Standard®.

One size, 67" × 13" (170 × 33 cm), about 5 oz (135 g) – enough for a loose double wrap around the neck. Several colours, from neutrals to darks. Five ways to tie it

Hand wash cool, or use the wool or delicate cycle at 30°C. Don't wring it: press the water out with a towel and dry flat, away from direct heat and sun. Cared for this way, it will last years. Care and washing
